Assignment: Advise the Board and Management on strategy and initial view of value

Our client is a publically-traded company focused on the development and commercialization of its proprietary drug delivery technology and associated drug therapies. Our client wanted an initial view on value as it considered whether to pursue raising capital or other strategic alternatives including M&A and licensing down the road. For our client, we developed and assessed its strategic choices which involved reviewing the viability, financial attractiveness and potential outcomes for ongoing programs given the stages of development, performing economic analysis of how to best allocate its resources, and ranking each program from a capital budgeting standpoint to analyze the expected rate of return on each investment. As part of the assignment, Torreya completed a number of analyses which included defining market value using various valuation methodologies and performing a novel regression analysis that standardizes our client company versus other publicly traded companies by stage of development and projected peak sales in the market. Throughout the engagement, Torreya maintained close communication with both the Board and Management.
