Assignment: Assess valuation of a clinical-stage program in an ongoing licensing transaction

Our client is a privately-held biotechnology company focused on discovering and developing small-molecule therapeutics for a variety of diseases. For our client, we performed a valuation analysis of one of its clinical-stage therapeutic programs which was used to provide input during ongoing out-licensing negotiations with multiple bidders. Torreya provided a number of services which included defining market value using various valuation methodologies, examining future regulatory and clinical development milestones and financial consequences, and performing competitive analysis. Shortly afterwards, our client successfully out-licensed the program and received a large upfront cash payment as part of the transaction. Throughout the engagement, Torreya maintained close communication with Management.
