Mark is focused on clients across the life sciences sector. He is a leader in our strategic advisory area and frequently consults for Torreya or on his own behalf for life sciences companies. Mark has deep sector knowledge and expertise, having been involved in the life sciences sector as an advisor, a research analyst or an investment banker since the mid-1980s. He has been involved in over 175 financing, licensing and M&A transactions in the last two decades. Most recently, Mark served as Senior Vice President, Business Development of Amicus Therapeutics where he was involved in a licensing transaction with Shire. From 2002 to 2005 he was Managing Director and Head of Life Sciences Investment Banking for Citigroup Global Markets. Mark began his life sciences career in equity research in 1984 and when he switched to investment banking in 1998, he was a Senior Biopharmaceutical Research Analyst at Robertson Stephens. Mark is currently a Trustee on the Morristown Memorial Health Foundation. He received his B.A. from Columbia College and his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
Mark’s transaction history includes the Initial Public Offerings of Abgenix, Affymetrix, Alkermes, Alnylam, Cor Therapeutics, Esperion, Genentech, Genzyme, Gilead, Given Imaging, Imclone, Medicines, Millennium, Neurocrine, Progenics, and Rigel; and Secondaries / Converts of Allergan, Amgen, Bone Care International, Centocor, Cephalon, Chiron, Cubist, Dov, Endo, Human Genome Sciences, ICOS, Immunex, Martek, NPS, OSI, Pain Therapeutics, Protein Design Labs, Regeneron, Schering-Plough, and Wyeth.
